Senior Manufacturing Engineer Job Details
Monday – Friday | 7am – 4pm |Salary positions $200k -$208k
- Overtime possible and mandatory
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming and machining experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Expertise with CNC lathes and milling machines; experience with Fuji and Mori Seiki equipment preferred
- Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam or similar programs
- Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack-up analysis
About the Senior Manufacturing Engineer Role
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Optimizing CNC machining processes to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce scrap, and increase production throughput
- Developing, modifying, testing, and validating CNC programs for lathes and vertical and horizontal milling machines
- Creating and optimizing toolpaths and cutting strategies for automotive components and assemblies
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing the most effective tooling, inserts, and workholding solutions
- Troubleshooting machining issues related to cycle times, tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation, and process stability
- Collaborating with Quality teams to ensure process capability, first-piece validation, and compliance with customer specifications
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Developing and maintaining process documentation, manufacturing standards, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Supporting production teams with hands-on engineering expertise and shop floor problem-solving
- Analyzing process data and implementing improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
- Assisting with fixture design, tooling selection, and machining process development for new and existing products
- Partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to support manufacturing objectives
- Leading manufacturing process improvement projects and supporting new product launches
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards throughout manufacturing operations
