Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, administering compensation, benefits, and leave programs, and ensuring enforcement of company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and employee work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to identify required skills and competencies.
- Conducts or coordinates background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Administers and executes HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary actions, employee relations, investigations, performance and talent management, workplace safety, and training and development.
- Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters to appropriate leadership as needed.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews and updates policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Maintains awareness of current trends, best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of human resources experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate all departments within the organization’s facilities.
- Ability to travel to Dayton periodically as required.
