Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Job Details
Winchester, KY
Pay: $82,500/year
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Direct Hire
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Requirements
- OSHA 500 Certification required (candidates without this certification will not be considered)
- Previous Environmental Health & Safety experience within the construction industry required
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and occupational health principles
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification required
- Excellent report writing, documentation, and recordkeeping skills
- Strong training, presentation, and employee engagement abilities
- Ability to conduct incident investigations and perform root cause analysis
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Environmental Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safety initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Lead weekly company-wide safety meetings and ongoing educational programs
- Conduct safety training covering preventative practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
- Perform regular job site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Manage and support multiple site safety representatives
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA-required records, inspection reports, training documentation, and safety files
- Manage and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation
- Develop emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills
- Partner with leadership to support occupational health initiatives and workers' compensation compliance
- Stay current on OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and industry best practices
Preferred Certifications
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
- CST or CSHO Certification
