Tool & Die Maker Job Details
Schedule: Full-time (Shift to be discussed during interview)
Pay Rate: $30.00-$40.00/hour
Location: Franklin, OH
Tool & Die Maker Requirements/Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker or equivalent apprenticeship
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Experience with manual machining operations
- Knowledge of metal properties and heat treating processes
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Journeyman Tool & Die certification preferred
- Experience with progressive die stamping preferred
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment and perform physical job duties
About the Tool & Die Maker Role
As a Tool & Die Maker, your responsibilities will include:
- Build, troubleshoot, and repair precision tools, dies, and fixtures
- Interpret blueprints and detailed specifications
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses
- Perform routine maintenance and adjustments to tooling
- Diagnose tooling issues and complete repairs to minimize downtime
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve tooling and manufacturing processes
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
