Staff Accountant Job Details

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $50,000-$65,000/year

Location: Lawrenceburg, IN

Staff Accountant Requirements/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
1-2 years of accounting experience required
Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Accumatica, or similar preferred)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling, and formula analysis
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

About the Staff Accountant Role

As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for manufacturing operations
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
Assist with cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
Reconcile inventory balances and investigate discrepancies
Monitor production costs, labor efficiency, and overhead allocation
Analyze manufacturing expenses and prepare financial reports for management
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Perform financial analysis and special projects as assigned
Communicate with clients as needed for executive staff
Assist management with additional accounting and finance projects
