Leasing Consultant Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy required.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to enter data into property management software.
- Ability to generate move-in paperwork and renewals.
- Ability to credit screen prospective residents.
- Ability to use online marketing tools to track traffic, respond to emails, and update advertisements.
- Ability to interpret and communicate detailed written and verbal instructions.
About the Leasing Consultant Role
As a Leasing Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
As a Leasing Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide information about apartments, amenities, and the community to prospective residents.
- Schedule visits and conduct community tours.
- Interview prospective residents to determine their needs and qualifications.
- Complete guest cards and enter information into property management software.
- Explain lease and community policies to new and current residents.
- Prepare and assist with leasing paperwork, applications, and lease agreements.
- Collect security deposits, rent, and other funds associated with applications and move-ins.
- Enter resident service requests into property management software.
- Support marketing efforts and provide input on promotions, pricing, and advertisements.
- Monitor advertisements and track their effectiveness.
- Monitor current and future vacancies.
- Inspect vacant rent-ready apartments to ensure they meet company standards.
- Maintain current resident files.
- Assist with resident retention and renewal programs.
- Maintain professional relationships with residents, co-workers, and the general public.
- Follow all Fair Housing Laws and company standards.
- Attend training seminars and resident activities as needed.
